The EFTP is the fastest microwave-free tissue processor currently available. Up to 360 biopsies can be safely processed in 40 minutes. This can be achieved using traditional reagents or most commercially available xylene and ethyl alcohol substitutes.

Reagents are safely heated as they are filled into the sample processing chamber, without any delay, thanks to a patented device called the Enhanced Heat Exchanger (EHE). Only three reagents (plus fixation) are needed to process biopsies quickly and successfully. Each sample is heated uniformly to the desired temperature at the start of each processing stage. Any risk of overheating is avoided thanks to the special design and multiple safety features of the EHE.
