The Edwards E2M28 oil-sealed rotary vacuum pump is renowned for its high ultimate vacuum, rapid pumping speed, quiet operation, and ability to handle vapour, making it the industry standard for laboratory and light industrial applications. The pump is a freestanding unit with the drive provided through a flexible coupling by either a single-phase or three-phase air-cooled motor. It functions at its best in very good condition, making it ideal for applications such as analytical instruments, automotive, coating, cryogenics, distillation, extraction, and various other laboratory processes. This model was manufactured in the United Kingdom and is currently in used condition. The Edwards E2M28's unique features include an enclosed motor cooled by a fan, thermal overload protection, oil pressure system lubrication, gas ballast valve, and automatic reset. The pump has an ultimate vacuum (total pressure) without gas ballast of 1 x 10-3 mbar / 7.5 x 10-4 Torr, making it highly efficient for applications requiring a high vacuum level. The machine weighs 44 kg, has a noise level of 57 dB(A) @ 50 Hz and recommended oil (supplied) as Ultragrade 19.
