Illumina’s new BeadArray Reader simultaneously scans Sentrix Arrays at two different wavelengths with a resolution of less than one micron. A scan of 96 hybridized samples in an Array Matrix, representing data acquisition from over 4.5 million discrete beads, takes less than 90 minutes. This represents the highest throughput of any scanning platform used for microarray-based genetic analysis applications. The BeadArray Reader offers broad dynamic range, high sensitivity, and a low limit of detection. These metrics are particularly important for users planning to study gene expression and other applications that are supported by BeadArray technology and that demand high scanner performance.
