The scan speed is a maximum of 5200 amu/second with 0.1 amu resolution. The sensitivity is typically adjusted so that 1pg octafluoronaphthalene provides a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 20:1 with a scan mass range of 50-300 amu. SIM mode can monitor up to 30 masses simultaneously, up to 50 groups of 30 masses. The HP 6890 is designed to replace its older version, the HP 5890. The HP 6890 Series Gas Chromatograph System delivers high levels of performance. HP 6890 Series GC features include electronic pneumatic control of all gas pressures and flows. Onboard sensors automatically compensate for temperature changes and barometric pressure differences to achieve consistently more accurate and reproducible results.
