Product Description and Scope
The Arthrex DualWave AR-6480 Arthroscopy Pump is a system that provides constant, continuous (non-pulsed) control of intra-articular flow and distension pressure throughout the arthroscopy procedure. The AR-6480 pump is designed to provide a continuous (non-pulsed) flow rate that can respond instantly to changes in intra-articular pressure to maintain joint distension, even when high suction flow is present from the resector or a secondary source. The AR-6480
pump includes:
• A universal medical-grade power supply that allows it to automatically operate at voltage ranges used worldwide.
• A universal auto-resector detection feature that allows the device to automatically switch from low-flow cannula suction to high-flow arthroscope sheath suction as needed. A touchscreen displays user input.
• a lavage function that applies high pressure to stop bleeding and a flushing function to quickly clean joint spaces.
User-defined settings for irrigation pressure and suction flow rates can be changed using the controls on the touch screen or the remote control. The AR-6480 has four applied-piece tubing options:
1. One-piece tubing only. This tubing, when used alone, must be changed after each patient.
2. One-piece tubing combined with an extension tubing. The AR-6410 can be reused for the duration of a surgical day. In contrast, the AR-6220 must be replaced after each patient.
3. Two-piece tubing combination. The pump tubing can be reused for the duration of a surgical day. The patient irrigation tubing must be changed after each surgery.
4. Suction tubing. When the suction tubing is connected to the AR-6480 pump, the DualWave Arthroscopy Pump converts from an irrigation-only system to an irrigation/suction arthroscopy pump.
